What clues do you have about Miss Maudie’s character?
We know that Miss Maudie is an old time friend of the Linch Family. She didn’t like spending time inside her house because to her, it was time wasted. She loves God’s beautiful creation and spends a great amount of time in her yard. She is very nice and humble. Her and Scout started a pretty close friendship to where Scout is very open to her. Miss Maudie is very satisfied with herself and enjoys the time she has with children as well as by herself in her yard. She is very open and opens her yard to anyone. And that are some clues we have about Miss Maudie’s character so far in the book.
Tristian G.
There are many clues about Miss Maudie's character in different parts of the book. I agree with Tristian that Miss Maudie is an outdoors person by the way she spends much of her time outside. We can also tell that she is a lady who is a firm believer in Christ. Numerous times in the book she quotes scripture and as Scout says "Miss Maudie's command of Scripture was formidable." In the book Miss Maudie is shown as a lady who likes to tease, as we see her teasing Jem and Scout throughout the book. Also, we can see that she is a very friendly and genuine lady since the kids see her as a friend who is trustworthy, and talks to them like they are like adults. I definitely agree that Miss Maudie is satisfied with herself, she doesn't seem like the type of person who acts different than who they truly are. Overall, we can observe that she is a very caring and real person.
