Miss Maudie was the sole person in Maycomb to not show up to the trial. She felt it was cruel to watch someone's death sentence as she acknowledged that Tom would loose because of his skin tone. The attendance shows how significant this was to the town. Miss Stephanie was basically a "human Facebook" as she knew basically everything there was to know about the events of Maycomb and she made it her job to spread it and the meaner the better, or so it seemed. Bob Ewell on the other hand was the instigator; he was the cause of the trail as he was responsible for beating his daughter, not Tom Robinson. And there's also the children and Mr. Raymond; they all felt the injustice committed by the jury as innocent Tom was convicted guilty. This shows the massive contrast in the peoples of Maycomb and the importance of this trial.
